8. Explain how respiration occurs:


Cellular respiration is the process in which a cell gets most of its energy. It converts energy from nutrients into ATP, which cells use for processes that require energy. Cellular respiration is broken into two different parts, Aerobic respiration, and Anaerobic respiration.
Aerobic respiration is where they use oxygen to help create ATP. This is the main form of Cellular respiration. It is also 19 times more effective than the alternitive. The alternitive is Anaerobic respiration. This method is only used when there is no oxygen present. Instead, the cell uses an inorganic acceptor, mainly carbon dioxide. However, it is less effective and doesn't last long. Also after a while, you will experince muscle soreness.

Without oxygen, the cell then undergoes a process called Fermentation. This is when it uses other molecules like carbohydrates for respiration.
